Aston Martin today announced that a £200 million investment would be used to ensure the Aston Martin DBX SUV enters production and is available for sale by 2019. In addition to the DBX SUV, Aston Martin also plans to introduce several new model lines during the same period.

The funding injection comes in the form of £200 million of preference shares.

The DBX concept, has generated interest far beyond our expectations. The additional investment announced today will allow us to realise the DBX and other new luxury vehicles that will form the strongest and most diverse portfolio in our history.”

The new luxury vehicles mentioned r are expected to in fact be two new platforms — one dedicated to Aston Martin’s sports cars, while the other will focus on its ‘less’ sporty cars such as the DBX SUV.

A long-wheel base luxury sedan similar to the Lagonda Taraf is expected to be part of the funding spend. The vehicle is likely to be engineered and skewed toward the Chinese market, which is an important segment for the British manufacturer

The new Aston Martin DBX is being readied for its release. Currently, it’s undergoing a rigorous testing programme, with Aston Martin releasing another batch of official “spy shots” as evidence. Due to reach the UK market by 2020, the DBX will join an ever-growing range of premium performance SUVs, dominated by the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus.

Aston Martin DBX Spotted Testing

A test mule of the DBX has been spotted testing with a trailer hooked to its rear. The sides of the red box have the "Taylor Dynamometer" lettering, which is a Milwaukee-based company offering engine and chassis dynos, along with towing dynamometers like the one the DBX was hauling around. So we can safely assume that Aston Martin was testing the engine on different parameters.

Aston Martin DBX SUV Bookings Open In India

It was just last week, that Aston Martin revealed its first SUV ever - the DBX to the world. While the company had said that it will launch the car across the world, the fate of India receiving any cars hung in the balance. However, the company has kick started bookings in India too and customers can get in touch with the dealership in Mumbai and Delhi to book their very own DBX SUV. The company has already received a bunch of bookings for the SUV, though the allotment for India is not very high and runs in single digit figures. The booking amount for the Aston Martin DBX is set at ₹ 1 crore and the expected price for the SUV is likely to be ₹ 4 crore (ex-showroom India), which will certainly make it pricier than the Lamborghini Urus in the country.

New Aston Martin DBX by Q shows off customisation options

04_36.jpg

The heavily customised Aston Martin DBX by Q has been revealed ahead of its official launch at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

02_35.jpg

Claimed to highlight the 'rule-breaking customisation' that is achievable through its Q bespoke division, the DBX by Q is said to showcase Aston Martin's 'darker side'.

03_36.jpg

That goes some way explain why the tailored DBX by Q is painted in dark satin grey, sits on huge gloss black 22-inch wheels, features a darkened grille and ditches all of its exterior chrome. A full carbon fibre exterior styling pack completes a look that’s claimed to portray an aggressive, confident attitude.

Inside, the bespoke division has worked hard to recapture the menacing exterior within the cabin. ‘Obsidian black’ leather seats and machined carbon fibre finish around the centre console, as does a single piece of herringbone finished boot floor that, again, has been weaved using carbon fibre.
