New Linea to debut in 2016 in select markets.
The current Linea will likely continue to be offered in select regions such as South America and India

The Linea replacement will be a part of a new family of models for Fiat that will also include a new hatchback and a station wagon, with all three cars to be produced by Fiat's Turkish joint venture, Tofas, in 2016, following an investment of around $1 billion.

The Fiat group's modern crop of turbocharged petrol and diesels, such as the 1.4-liter turbo MutliAir and 2.0-liter Multijet, both with 140PS, will likely feature in all three models.

Re: Fiat's New Linea caught testing - 2016 launch

By seeing at these pictures, I expect the Fiat Linea to lose it beautiful Italian flair and go for a much more racier and a dynamic design. And wish that Fiat ditches the 1.3L Multijet engine and goes for a bigger engine which suits this car and the class. The Fiat Linea is an extreme capable handler and the new model should also continue with the same handling. And Fiat should get its aftersales improved before getting it to India so that people will be happy with the overall experience. Get it going Fiat.

The commercial launch of the Compact Sedan coincide with those anticipated in the business plan of the Group FCA last year. Also according to the plan, after the sedan, in 2016 should debut variants hatchback (the five-door hatchback, it would be) and station wagon.

The new Fiat compact sedan (Linea successor) in Germany – Spied

The new Fiat compact sedan, which is reported to be a successor to the Fiat Linea. The car will be revealed at the forthcoming Istanbul Motor Show on May 21 before entering production at Tofas’ plant (Fiat’s Turkish joint venture).

A teaser image of the new sedan’s C-shaped taillight was shown yesterday, with Fiat announcing that the car was designed by the FCA Style Center with inputs coming from Tofas R&D. An “excellent interior comfort and load capacity” and an “overwhelming combination of comfort, spaciousness, efficiency and technology” are highlights promised by Fiat.

As with Fiat’s products, power for the sedan is expected to come from a MultiJet diesel engine and a turbocharged petrol engine, matched to manual and automatic transmissions.

The as yet unnamed sedan will be exported from the Tofas plant to over 40 regions in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), however, it remains to be seen if Fiat India is considering this sedan as a probable replacement for the Linea, which was introduced towards the end of 2008.

Fiat Aegea sedan – In Images

The Fiat Aegea made its world premiere at the 2015 Istanbul Motor Show last week. Reported to replace the Fiat Linea, the Aegea is seen in an extensive image gallery in this story.

The Aegea fits the bill of an Indian mid-size sedan thanks to its 4.5 meter length, 1.78 meter width, 1.48 meter height and 2.64 meter wheelbase, which puts it bang in the middle of the Honda City territory. It also gets a similar 510 liter boot.

Designed in Italy at the FCA Style Center and developed in Turkey with the Tofas R&D, the Aegea will be made at the Bursa plant, and will be sold in over 40 countries.

At the time of launch, the Fiat Aegea will be sold with two Multijet II diesel engines and two petrol motors, with power ratings between 95 and 120 hp, paired to manual and automatic transmissions. One of the most fuel efficient diesel engines will return more than 25 km/l according to Fiat.

The Aegea is equipped with Fiat’s Uconnect infotainment system which is basically a 5-inch color touchscreen system with support for Bluetooth, AUX-in and iPod, voice recognition, text reader, a rear parking camera and TomTom satellite navigation system.

Fiat have not confirmed the Aegea for the Indian market, where the new Linea (Linea facelift) and Linea Classic are sold in the sedan segment.
