New details are starting to emerge about BMW's upcoming entry-level crossover that will slot below the X1.
Tentatively known as the Urban Cross and 1-Series Sport Cross, the model will measure approximately four meters long and have unique styling with a coupe-like roofline. The latter will impact the crossover's practicality as it will reportedly limit luggage space to a scant 330 liters (11.6 cubic feet).
Speaking of the interior, the cabin is expected to echo the 2-Series Active Tourer but have a more streamlined design and a new touchscreen infotainment system.
Specifications are still shrouded in secrecy but engine options should carryover from the 2-Series Active Tourer. The company could also offer a plug-in hybrid variant but nothing is official as of yet. BMW Urban Cross coming in 2017 with unique styling inside & out - Photos
