Competitiveness leads to new innovations. The car market globally is becoming fiercely competitive and every brand is trying to bring out a product which can effectively compete with the others in the segment.
Following the league we have BMW who has plans of bringing out a small Crossover (CUV) to rival the Audi Q1. According to various reports, the new Crossover of BMW shall be placed below the X1 and is slated to come out in 2017.

The coupe-shaped crossover will reportedly be four meters long and should provide a trunk capacity of about 330 liters, with power being provided a range of three- and four-cylinder engines. AMS says it will ride on the same front-wheel drive platform as the MINI and could later on spawn a plug-in hybrid version while a fully electric derivative is not being considered.
