After the success of Dacia Logan, Renault is keen to add another budget brand - To be made in association with Nissan.
The low-cost vehicle line-up is said to consist of four models. All of them would be based on a new platform, referred to as the CAMM, which is developed in association with Japanese carmaker Nissan. The model range would include one in each essential body type; a hatchback, a sedan, an SUV and a 7-seater people mover.
By early 2015, the French manufacturer will take final decision on the new portfolio.
First product in the series, Renault XBA hatchback, will be revealed next year. Prices of the new budget car line-up is said to start at around 3,500 EUR (Rs. 2.68 lakhs approx.). This will be launched in India.
The second product, an MPV, has already started testing in Europe.
