| Audi Moves To a New Design Language Audi has teased new A9 concept that is set to debut at Los Angeles Auto Show on November 18th. The interesting part through this revelation will showcase Audi; this will showcase Audi’s flagship theme not only for the production version of the upcoming new flagship, but also for future products of the firm.
Marc Lichte, Audi’ s head of design since February states “The importance of this concept car lies mainly in the fact that it will be seen as a manifesto for the four-ring brand’s new formal language: Audi here is placing the accent even more firmly on the sporting dimension, something that will characterize the whole upcoming generation of cars”, explains Lichte, who points out that “the new models will be immediately recognizable as Audi’s, starting with the signature single frame grille which will, however, also represent a major step forward in terms of sportiness”.

| Re: Audi Moves To a New Design Language Audi A9 to enter into production from 2016 and will be based on the MLB Evo platform and will be priced from 80,000 Euros. The rendering from Auto Bild suggests that the A9 will have a fastback design to it, much like the A7, slim LED headlights, a a long bonnet and a spacious boot are some of the deatures.
Currently, Mercedes and BMW don't have anything to offer in the same segment as A9. Therefore, the A9 will compete with Maserati Quattroporte and it's elder sibling Porsche Panamera.

| Re: Audi Moves To a New Design Language The 2016 Audi A4 spy shots reaffirm that Audi is indeed adopting the new design language for all their future products as the grille and headlamps seen on spy shots resemble to the earlier A9 renderings.
The A4 is being developed to take head on with all new Mercedes C Class and BMW 3 series and it also faces internal threat with introduction of the smaller A3 sedan where both are priced closely. The 2016 A4 will be based on the second generation MLB platform which will feature more extensive implementation of lightweight materials, enough so that the car is expected to shed at least 90 Kgs.

| Re: Audi Moves To a New Design Language Audi has been baiting us with tiny glimpses of their latest concept, the A9, and they have released the newest one yet. This teaser is a video and it shows flashes of what the A9 concept will look like ahead of its big unveil at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Reports state that the Audi A9 will be released in 2017 and have a 4.0 litre, twin turbocharged V8 engine that belts out a whopping 600 hp but, there is no confirmation for these stats as of yet. The A9 concept car will have the covers pulled off of it at the upcoming 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show in the USA on the 18th of November.
The video shows Audi’s new head of design, Marc Lichte, walking around a car covered by a cloth. This vehicle is his very first project at Audi and he mentions drawing styling inspiration for the A9 from cars like the Audi Quattro, TT Coupe and the first gen Audi A8 sedan. The cloth cover is pulled off and the video fades to black in an instant but not before we see most of the outline of the car surprisingly clearly. There is also a point in the video where a part of the cover is moved to show the stunning alloy wheels of the A9. Wish November 18 could get here sooner!

| Re: Audi Moves To a New Design Language @ Unni, the A9 will be showcased in the LA Auto Show which will start from 21st Nov; there is a possibility that Q7 will be launched in 2014 or early 2015 and might carry the single frame grille like the new facelifted Q3. |

| Re: Audi Moves To a New Design Language The new 2016 Audi A4 has been caught testing in Germany; the car will feature more upright grille and angular headlights which is part of the new design language that Audi is adopting for all it future models.
Audi has been tight-lipped about specifications but the model is expected to ride on the MLB Evo platform and weigh approximately 100kg (220 lbs) less than its predecessor.
Under the hood, we can expect the last crop of Audi engines and possibility a new plug-in hybrid variant that uses a 211 bhp (157 kW) 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder petrol engine and a 95 bhp (71 kW) electric motor.

| Re: Audi Moves To a New Design Language Audi has unveiled the much awaited Prologue concept which is previewed as the company's future styling direction, the Prologue is an elegant coupe that is slightly shorter than an A8. The designers added a wide single frame grille that is positioned lower than on today’s production models. The grille is flanked by Matrix laser headlights, gloss black front spoilers and aggressive air vents with diamond pattern inserts.
Power is provided by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter TFSI V8 engine that develops 605 PS (445 kW) and 750 Nm (553lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and a quattro all-wheel drive which enables the coupe to rocket from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.

| Re: Audi Moves To a New Design Language Dear Sujee.V,
Foremost accept my sincere complements for maintaining this thread so well. From the pics of the renderings and test mules it is pretty evident that Audi has come up with head turning designs. The front and rear profiles appear sharper and give a powerful character to their vehicles.
Right from head lamps to the alloys it seems Audi has re-worked on every expect and improved upon quite well. The only thing to be seen is will these superb renderings will as it is be implemented on the production versions in future!
As per Indian consumer's perspective, If these designs are launched in India with a competitive price tag then there will be a massive demand for sure.
Regards
Akash

| Re: Audi Moves To a New Design Language This new concept looks seriously awesome!
But at the same time it rings a bell in my mind that the front looks almost similar to the Aston Martin One77, except for those sharp edges.
But nonetheless, Audi is going really aggressive. |

| Re: Audi Moves To a New Design Language The second generation Q7 new spy shots have emerged with less camouflage and does not draw inspiration from the recently showcased Audi Prologue concept. The second generation Q7 adopts an evolutionary design and looks less bulky than the outgoing generation but the styling features many similarities with the model is set to replace.

| Re: Audi Moves To a New Design Language Friends,
The 2016 Audi A4 Sedan and Station Wagon rendered! Quote:
The 2016 Audi A4 will be based on Volkswagen’s second generation MLB platform (which the 2016 Audi Q7 and 2017 Audi A6 will be based on), so it’s expected to be lighter than before. And with both the Mercedes Benz C Class and BMW 3 series being newer than the current A4, the German car maker has its work cut out for the next version.
