Skoda’s upcoming SUV, rumored to be called Snowman, rendered.

It features a shape reminiscent of the VW BlueCross concept that’s been infused with Skoda design traits, a slightly lower roof and crossover-esque plastic body cladding.
If the Czechs want to distinguish its SUVs from the rest of the range (remember the first-gen Yeti?) and the adoption of its new styling language.
If this is true, then expect it to draw heavily upon the sharp (and very green) Vision C concept

Re: Skoda's Upcoming New SUV

Skoda puts Indian investments on hold.

The VW group could have a different approach to the indian market.

Skoda could be more upmarket in India -most likely push Skoda as a more luxurious option in the Indian market.
With already reports of SEAT, a brand under the VAG group coming to India, to compete in the budget segmant, could be the plan the bigger picture for the group.

Re: SKODA Names The New SUV "A-PLUS".

Buddies,

Skoda has exclusively showcased its 7-seater concept called the "A-Plus" SUV which is expected to be bigger than the Skoda Yeti and shall compete with Hyundai Santa Fe.

Being Showcased to some selective publications, Skoda confirmed that this SUV will not be called as "Snowman" as speculated earlier.

Power for the A Plus will come only from four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, though Skoda could explore the possibility of offering a plug-in hybrid variant later on in its lifecycle. Matched to manual and automatic transmissions, the A Plus will be offered with 2WD and 4WD.

Skoda’s 7-seat SUV to be revealed by end of this year

German magazine Auto Bild has released an artist impression of the Skoda three-row SUV. The accompanying description says the car would be 4,700 mm long, have a design that is similar to the Superb, and comfortably accommodate 7 passengers.

Based on the new Superb’s platform.

Australia’s CarAdvice cites sources as saying that the Skoda 7-seat SUV will be revealed by the end of this year, months in advance of a debut that was originally planned for the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016.

Codenamed ‘A-Plus’, the SUV will be based on the same MQB platform as the new 2016 Superb, though its design (Skoda is yet to reveal a concept) and even name is pure speculation as of now. A report in December 2014 claimed that select publications were shown the SUV, but were not allowed to take pictures of the vehicle.
In a past interview, Skoda’s head, Dr. Winfried Vahland, hinted that the A-Plus will rival SUVs such as the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento in the European market, but will be priced far competitively. The official confirmed that ‘Snowman’ was not the name of the SUV. CarAdvice reports that Skoda is considering between four names, but is no hurry to choose one at the moment.

Skoda has indicated that it will cater to the premium segments of the Indian car market with the likes of the Octavia and Superb. Hence, the brand could consider introducing the A-Plus as a rival to the Toyota Fortuner, though company officials are yet to announce plans as such.
Competitors: Hyundai Santa Fe,Toyota Fortuner, Kia Sorento
Expected Price: INR 25-30 lakhs, ex-Showroom
Launch date: 2016 in Europe

I thought yeti comes in competition with the xuv500 and the likes. I just saw the rates and i'm surprised. They are already competing with the endeavour and other suv. Don't know how much this mew suv is going to cost. Around 30 ?

Even though it competes with XUV 5oo, the skoda Yeti is not a six or seven seater to compete. But then the rates of these Suv's does compete with each other and not the features and the seating capacity which these Suv's offer.

If it is going to be around 30 Lakhs then it is better to buy any Jeep models which i feel that it would be a great purchase.

Re: Skoda's Upcoming New SUV

Another rendering of Skoda SUV - Snowman / Polar
thats a brilliant design. nice refreshed looks far better than old skoda yeti.
The render shows quite a big resemblance to the upcoming Audi SUV. No wonder there, as all the 3 brands are inter-linked. Certainly a better design than the Yeti. As it would be launched here in future, I feel that this car in this particular design can help SKODA a lot in terms of sales. BUT equally important question mark remains on after sales.

Re: Skoda's Upcoming New SUV

the after sales has been and will be the main key towards the success of skoda in the Indian market. many stay away from this brand considering the after sales service alone.

Skoda Snowman /Polar mule spied on the Nurburgring.

Caught wearing a modified Yeti body, the Snowman will be a spacious and affordable crossover that offers seating for up to seven people.

Skoda hasn't had much to say about the model but it slated to be launched next year and ride on an extended version of the MQB platform.

Engine options remain unconfirmed but speculation suggests the model will be offered with an assortment of petrol and diesel options with outputs ranging from 140-184 PS (103-135 kW). Front-wheel could be standard but all-wheel will undoubtedly be optional.
