Mercedes is actively testing its B-Class facelift. Earlier on, it was caught snow testing. The existing B-Class has been around for some two years now and is up for a slight makeover. The mid-cycle refresh will entail a slightly different exterior design, a couple of new engines and the addition of new technology. Expect the refreshed B-Class to be revealed either at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show or at the 2015 edition of the Geneva Motor Show.

At the front, the MPV will feature a more upright grille and a redesigned bumper which could even get LED lamps. As for the rear, the only bit of update is the restyled exhaust pipe-end, also seen in the new C-Class. The headlamps also will be in for change.

Coming to the good stuff inside, we do not have much information on that and will have to do with these exterior shots as of now. Getting down to the engines, we expect Mercedes may introduce a new 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine to replace the existing Renault-sourced 1.5-litre unit.

Competition, in the form of BMW, saw the business that the B-Class initially picked and so they threw in their 2 Series Active Tourer into the fray. Mercedes has benchmarked their refreshed car against the old car so may expect minimal changes to the prices as well.
