Jeep Renegade begins arriving in the Middle East
The first lot of Jeep Renegades have begun arriving in the Middle Eastern market. The spyshots below have surfaced from the sea port of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Jeep has temporarily halted deliveries of the Renegade due to a software issue with the 9-speed automatic transmission so the initial stock arrived could be the only units shipped from Italy, until Jeep irons out the glitch.
Unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the boxy compact crossover will be offered with a 1.4-liter Turbo engine that delivers 160 hp and 250 Nm peak torque through a 9-speed automatic transmission. The top end variant gets Trail Rated capability with Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 system.
Design wise, it draws plenty of cues from bigger Jeeps, and sticks to the Wrangler’s familiar boxy shape. It features the signature seven-slot grille and a high ground clearance, which improves its off-road character.
Sadly, the Indian market will not be getting the Jeep Renegade for now, despite the fact that Fiat India is paving the way for Jeep’s arrival into the country. Jeep Renegade begins arriving in the Middle East
