We have already reported enough about the upcoming 2014 Toyota Corolla and now, NoticiasAutomotivas.com.br have come up with photographs of a next gen Corolla test mule. These images were published in Japanese magazine Mag-X and from what can be made out from the pics, the next gen Corolla will have exterior styling similar to that of the new Auris.

Overall, the car looks conservatively styled and easy on the eye with looks that will be inoffensive to all the age-groups.

On the inside, the 2014 Corolla continues to share design cues with the new Auris hatchback and the interiors should reek of quality and practicality.

It is being said that the new Corolla will be powered by the same motors that power the current car. This means that the 2014 model will be sold with the 1.4 litre diesel and 1.8 litre petrol engines.

Toyota to unveil 2014 Corolla on June 6

Toyota has announced via its official USA Facebook page that will unveil the 2014 Corolla on June 6 and have released a teaser image in this regard. We already have an idea of the overall design thanks to the Corolla Furia Concept car that was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.

An accidental information leak by a Toyota dealer in Kansas, USA, know that 2014 Corolla will most likely get an upgraded VVT-i system, CVT gearbox for the higher trims as well refreshed interiors.

The 2014 Toyota Corolla is expected to be powered by the same 1.8-litre petrol mill and the 1.4-litre diesel engine. While the former produces 139PS and 173Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 87PS and 205Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic (petrol only). It is expected to share many of its components with the larger Camry sedan.
Toyota India had announced last year that it would focus its efforts on developing the Liva twins till 2015.This means that the all-new Corolla’s India debut is still some time away, unless Toyota decides to build and export the new model from India to the Asian markets.

2014 Toyota Corolla teased

The 2014 Toyota Corolla is less than a week away from its D-Day and the Japanese giant has been slipping in teasers every now and then.

The next generation Corolla will adopt a completely new design that was previewed by the Toyota Furia Concept at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. It will basically be a toned down Furia.

Notice that the secondary airdam has similar detailing compared to that of the Furia concept but the overall shape is less aggressive. It appears that the airdam is a hexagon.

The Corolla is the best selling car nameplate in the world and that explains how important the new launch is for Toyota. Erstwhile, the sedan’s design evolved as it graduated but this time Toyota has made an effort to transform the car’s image completely.

We expect the new Corolla to be larger and roomier than the current one. It would to be loaded with more technologies and safety features to fight it out with its contemporaries.

The 2014 Toyota Corolla will be unveiled on June 6 in the US and we will bring you details as they are available.

Re: New Toyota Corolla 2014

2014 Toyota Corolla unveiled

Toyota has unveiled the 2014 Corolla sedan. After almost a month of teasers, it has been revealed that 2014 Corolla is a much younger and much sharper looking offering from the Japanese automaker. The 2014 Corolla has not strayed very far from the Furia concept car that was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show and features most of its design philosophy.

The 2014 Toyota Corolla is bigger and wider than the outgoing car in a bid to increase the interior space. It features a sleek honeycomb grille that flows into the LED headlights. This has been accentuated by a large full black air dam, very similar to what was previewed on the Furia.

The side profile, retain a familiar overall design-thanks to the cars proportions but has certain aerodynamic creases and flared wheel arches that give it a squat stance. It rides new 17-inch alloy wheels designed especially for the car.

At the back, the new design language has resulted in the brake lamp assembly flowing from the edge of the boot lid towards the number plate. The dual trapezoid exhausts from the Furia have been replaced by a single unit on the right side of the car. The rear end features a more rounded design yet compact design.

The interiors feature a (in the words of the company) a horizontally oriented dash with a familiar layout. However, what is new is the design of the buttons, knobs as well as the gauges and screens. Toyota has also used newer and higher quality materials in their construction to give a better fit and finish. The trim and the upholstery have also been updated.

The Corolla will continue to be powered by the same 1.8-litre mill four cylinder mill that produces 138PS and 173Nm of torque, it will however now be fitted with the Japanese automaker’s VVT-i technology. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual or two automatic gearboxes; a four-speed for the entry level variant or CVT in the higher trim levels. When this car is launched in India, it is also expected to continue with the 1.4-litre diesel that produces 87PS and 205Nm of torque. The oil burner will get the six-speed manual.

We in India will get the car sometime in 2015 as the Japanese automaker had previously announced that it will only focus on developing the Etios range in the Indian market till 2015. We are excited about this vehicle as it signifies a change in Toyota’s design language and is a first view of what future cars in their range will look like in the coming years.

Toyota has not announced a price or a launch date for the vehicle in the American market. Along with its standard target group, the 2014 Corolla is expected to appeal a new set of buyers who will write the next generation of stories in the sedan’s colourful history.

2014 Toyota Corolla offically revealed.

Updated Toyota Corolla offically revealed.

World's best selling car grows in size

Following a string of teasers, Toyota has officially revealed the 2014 Corolla in the U.S. specification.
On numerous occasions Toyota said the new Corolla is going to take styling cues from the surprisingly attractive Furia Concept, but the end result isn't nearly as impressive as the concept shown earlier this year at NAIAS. However, it's significantly more appealing than the outgoing generation which should boost sales even further.

Sending a bit of a Honda vibe, the new Corolla comes as standard with LED low-beam headlamps and adopts a five-point lower front grille. The interior cabin is more evolved than what the predecessor has to offer and is more spacious thanks to a longer wheelbase which has increased by 3.93 inches (100 mm) to 106.3 inches (2700 mm). As a result of the elongated wheelbase, the 2014 Toyota provides an extra 2.95 inches of rear seat room.

Exterior dimensions stand at 182.6 inches (4639mm) length, 69.9 inches (1776 mm) width and 57.3 inches (1455 mm) height, meaning the new Corolla is 3.90 inches (99 mm) longer, 0.63 inches (16 mm) wider and 0.39 inches (10 mm) lower than before. Front overhangs have increased by 0.90 inches (23 mm) to 37.7 inches (958 mm), while rear overhangs have been shortened by 0.94 inches (24 mm) to 38.6 inches (981 mm).

The 2014 Toyota Corolla L, LE and S trim levels come with a 4-cylinder, 1.8-liter engine producing 132 bhp (98 kW), while the new LE Eco grade is powered by a 1.8-liter mill rated at 140 bhp (104 kW). Various gearboxes are available depending on trim level, with a six-speed manual for the L and S models, a seven-speed CVTi-S (continuously variable transmission intelligent-shift) for LE, LE Eco and S and an obsolete four-speed automatic for the entry-level L model.
The Eco-badged model brings improved aerodynamics and rides on low-rolling resistance tires which enable a highway fuel economy of more than 40 mpg US (48 mpg UK or 5.8 liters / 100 km). This figure was possible by making extensive use of lightweight, high-strength steel which has kept the Corolla's curb weight at less than 2,900 lbs (1,315 kg).
Standard equipment includes eight airbags, Bluetooth hand-free phone and audio-streaming connectivity, along with other equipment (depending on trim) such as back-up monitor, power moonroof, touchscreen radio, smart key / push-button start, SofTex seats and apps accessible via the audio head unit.

2014 Toyota Corolla to be built in Durban, SA from early next year

The 11th generation Corolla will shortly go on sale in its prime markets before gradually expanding its presence across the globe. The world’s best selling sedan has now got bigger, better and modern.

The new Corolla would enter production at Toyota’s South African plant in Durban early next year. The plant produces the Hilux pickup, Fortuner and the previous generation Corolla for both domestic and export markets.

The Corolla is the best selling four door sedan in South Africa and that’s a good starting point for the new car which according to Toyota is the best ever Corolla.

Lettie Labuschagne, General Manager, product planning at Toyota South Africa, has confirmed that the South African spec Corolla will be visually similar to the European model. It is to be noted that even the India bound car will adopt the looks of the European car.

The Corolla nameplate has been in existence for 47 years and Toyota has sold almost 40 million units of the sedan worldwide, surpassing the records of iconic cars like the Ford Model T and the VW Beetle along the way. The new Toyota Corolla will continue to stretch the lead as it will be sold in over 150 markets.

2014 Euro-spec Toyota Corolla

The 2014 Toyota Corolla was globally unveiled at the beginning of this month and straightaway there was a problem. The dynamic and sporty looking Corolla (which takes a lot of inspiration from the Toyota Furia concept) is bound for the North American markets only. The rest of the world would get the European version (which seems as though it was designed entirely in Thailand).

Toyota’s demographic reveals that the Corolla is bought by the young and the old in the United States. The Corolla in the US is largely self-driven. This is not the case elsewhere, especially in Asia. If you bought a Corolla in India, chances are that your hairline is receding and you’ve got a man in a white apparel who addresses you as ‘Sir’ and drives you to work.

As a result, the Euro Corolla has to look more mature to fit it’s mature, rear-seat loving owner.

The new Corolla has grown by 8cm in length, 1.5cm in width, while the wheelbase sees a 10cm extension. As a result, leg/knee room is appreciably better. Toyota has also put the front seats on a diet, thereby making them slimmer, for better use of space.

Internationally, the Corolla will be available with a choice of a 1.8 and 2.0-liter engine developing 144bhp and 153bhp respectively. The options of a 6-speed manual or a CVT will continue to exist.

For India,Toyota may bring the 1.8 petrol and the existing 1.4 diesel for the new Corolla, while offering manual and automatic options on the petrol and a manual only on the diesel.

2014 Toyota Corolla to debut in the middle of next year. There maybe gentle changes to the cabin’s color, trim and fabric to endow it a plusher feel.

Toyota commences production of 2014 US spec Corolla in Mississippi

The 2014 Toyota Corolla (American specification) has entered production at the brand’s Blue Springs plant located in Mississippi. The 11th generation Corolla will be reaching dealers in the next few weeks.

The Mississippi plant which commenced operations in November 2011, was conceived to build the Highlander and the Prius. However, Toyota deferred those plans and started producing the Corolla since 2011. Currently, this is the only American plant to produce the Corolla

This plant which was earlier making Corollas at the rate of 86 seconds per vehicle, has now reduced the time to 78 seconds per vehicle. The 8 seconds of time saved per Corolla translates to an annual production increase of 10,000 vehicles per annum! The capacity of the plant is currently rated at 160,000 units/annum and the factory has built 224,000 units of the Corolla till date.

The styling of the American Corolla is much more aggressive and sporty than the Euro spec Corolla. This is because Toyota has learned that a large percentage of Corolla buyers in the States are younger compared to the European/Asian Corolla customer. The new Corolla should appeal to them.

The European specification Corolla has already entered production in Turkey in the beginning of the July and sales in certain European countries is expected to begin by the end of this year. It is this Euro spec Corolla which is headed to India in the middle of 2014.
