The incident happened after Nathan Dornacher left his four-day-old Galaxy Note 7 charging in his Jeep Grand Cherokee’s center console. Moments later, he saw his car up in flames.

Samsung said in a statement “We are aware of the incident and we are working with Mr. Dornacher to investigate his case and ensure we do everything we can for him. Consumer safety is Samsung’s highest priority. With regard to the Galaxy Note7, we are asking owners to take advantage of the Product Exchange Program. The program offers Note7 owners the opportunity to exchange the phone for a new one”.

Yes. Note 7 is dangerous, which is why civil aviation authorities have banned it around the world. The battery is made by one of Samsung subsidiary, so Samsung has no one else to blame. Will Samsung pick up the tab for the burnt car ? Technically, it should or the owner should sue Samsung. Thankfully the owner and family escaped a fiery end.

I suggested budget Samsung phone to some of my non techy friends and they were saying NO , samsung phones are bursting and they don't want samsung now

Instead of buying Note 7 in this price,buying 2 One Plus 3 mobiles makes sense.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 problem persists, now replaced phone reportedly caught fire

It seems like Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 nightmare is not going to end soon as a report now has claimed that a replaced unit of the phone, which Samsung deemed to be safe, caught fire on Southwest Airlines flight. Thankfully, all passengers and crew members of the plane, which is travelling from Louisville to Baltimore, were evacuated and there has been no injuries due to the incident.

As mentioned before, the phone was a replaced safe model as claimed by the owner of the phone, Brian Green. Green confirmed that he picked up the new replaced phone from an AT&T store on September 21, 2016. Moreover, a photograph of the box has also been revealed which shows a black square symbol and Green also claimed that it had green battery icon indicating the phone was a replaced unit.

they have messed up big time. what i have heard is that everyone wants\finds a reason to sue a big company , samsung should stop the note 7 before their liability keeps on increasing.

AirAsia bans Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on all its flights

Malaysian budget airline group AirAsia has prohibited carrying Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones onboard any of its flights, including those operated by AirAsia India, due to safety concerns. The ban kicked off at midnight, the airline company said.

Japan has barred all Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones from airplanes, mirroring moves by US regulators and a string of carriers that banned the recalled devices over fire risk concerns. The weekend announcement from Japan’s transport ministry follows an earlier warning that asked airlines to urge passengers not to turn on or charge the smartphones on aircraft. But aviation authorities went a step further on Saturday, ordering airlines to ban the devices completely, a transport ministry official said.The South Korean electronics giant has recalled all Note 7 phones, including replacements, following reports of exploding batteries and fires, which have led to numerous injuries. Samsung has also stopped producing the flagship handset.

4 Australian carriers ban Samsung Galaxy Note 7

MELBOURNE: As many as four Australian airlines have banned Samsung Galaxy Note 7 from all flights due to 'potential fire hazard'.

After AirAsia, Vistara bans Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones on its flights

Domestic airlines Vistara has banned the carrying of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones on its aircrafts — including check-in baggage, a day after Malaysian budget airline AirAsia announced a similar move.
