Xiaomi Mi 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S7 vs OnePlus 2 vs Lenovo Vibe X3: Price, specifications and features compared


Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Mi 5, in India. It is one of the fist smartphones in India to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor. The Mi 5 will compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7, OnePlus 2 and Lenovo Vibe X3. We compare these smartphones on the basis of their price, specifications and features.

Price: Xiaomi has launched the 32GB variant of Mi 5 in India. Priced at Rs 24,999, the smartphone will go on sale starting April 6 on Mi.com. The Galaxy S7 costs Rs 48,900, the OnePlus 2 16GB variant costs Rs 20,999 and 64GB variant costs Rs 22,999 whereas the Lenovo Vibe X3 is priced at Rs 19,999.

Specifications and features: One of the key talking points of the Xiaomi Mi 5 is the front and back glass design encased in the metal frame and the fingerprint scanner embedded inside the home button. The Galaxy S7 is also made from a metal frame and comes with a front and back glass design. It also includes IP68 certification for water and dust proofing, a heart rate sensor and a fingerprint scanner that comes embedded inside the home button.

The OnePlus 2 comes with a metal frame and the signature sandstone finish at the back. It also boasts a fingerprint scanner inside the home button. On the other hand, the Lenovo Vibe X3 sports a metal frame and comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner, which is located on the back of the device. Lenovo has also added three Texas Instruments OPA1612 amplifiers and a high-end Sabre 9018C2M DAC chip along with support for Dolby Audio for improved audio experience.

The Mi 5 flaunts a 5.15-inch full HD curved glass full HD (1080p) display, the Galaxy S7 sports a 5.1-inch QHD (1440x2560pixels) display and the OnePlus 2 and the Lenovo Vibe X3 come equipped with 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) displays.

At the heart of the Mi 5 runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable storage. The Galaxy S7 runs on Samsung’s homebrew Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage which can be further expanded using a microSD card. Lenovo’s Vibe X3 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core SoC paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and microSD card slot, whereas OnePlus 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 v2.1 quad-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 16GB or 64GB of non-expandable storage.
