If the CEO himself is so casual about the issue, I assume there is indeed something fishy at their end. Maybe the message being displayed is automated? To fool the troubled buyers?
About the app, I think it would be possible to check the phone remotely. Like in physical inspection, you cannot see the software problems. Physical inspection can only confirm that the problem exists. But, by using diagnostic devices (like OBD in cars) it is possible to get error codes. Similarly, in checking remotely, these diagnostic codes can be sent to the person at Flipkart to know about the problem. Not sure about this, though. But getting error codes with the app is difficult to believe.
Visiting service centre is the only option left, but I doubt whether they will give you a replacement. Replacement could have been provided by either the seller or Flipkart team. Don't give up. Bring the matter to as much people as you can, through forums and social media. Reputation and image is of a lot of importance to online stores, they may look into this!
EDIT- You should request the mods to change the title, as the problem is equally with Flipkart and Asus.
