Friends,

Before I go off to sleep, let me share this news with you all, the popular social/official network app "Whatsapp" has now been launched for the desktop users too. The service is called "Whatsapp Web". Earlier the same was available for smart phones.

WhatsApp Web is accessible through Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry or Nokia S60 devices. You will need to have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your phone and you have to run WhatsApp Web from the Google GOOGL +0.85% Chrome web browser. WhatsApp plans to launch WhatsApp Web for iOS users, but that timeframe is unknown.

It works, Open WhatsApp on your mobile phone and select WhatsApp Web from the options. Then place the QR code on your desktop/Laptop. All done.

You can now use WhatsApp on your PC. However you should have the Data/Internet active on your phone. Else WhatsApp web on PC will not work.

WhatsApp for Web has recently been updated with a bunch of new features, edging the service closer to its mobile counterpart. The revamp introduces more functionality to the desktop version, so you’ll be less likely to open the app on your phone if you’re happily dabbling with the service on your PC.

The update means WhatsApp for Web now lets you delete and archive one-on-one chats, and also perform additional commands such as archive group chats, as well as mute or leave them.

It’s also now possible to change your profile photo and status via the Web version – it’s just a matter of hovering over the icons to bring up the edit option. The link to the news is here.
