And which is the best company at that particular price?
Starts at 18K onwards. (Even cheaper)
All brands are almost same (Canon/Nikon/Sony). I think Canon is bit cheaper than Nikon for the same price tag. The video shooting (frame per seconds) are more in canon compared to Nikon.
People go for higher end ones mainly because of the following things
ISO levels (Less noise at higher ISO. Even without flash, you can click a pic at night without grainy/noisy image)
Metering display. They love to see display on top meter display than looking on screen.
Built in motor. It works with all sorts of lens (lens with/without motor).
More features. No of continuous shots. HDR etc (I think hdr is available in lower end models too)
Better build quality. It would be rough and tough. Even it can withstand slight rain (drizzle)
In simple terms:- (as per my thinking)
If you want to shoot day light with background blur etc, any DSLR camera with a good lens will get you that.
If you want to click a night photography with flash, you should be able to get decent photo. (Not the best)
If you want others to admire about your camera and see you like a pro, go for a high end camera :D
If you want to have high end feature, better build quality, go for a decent camera.
All the best :)
