As others have rightly mentioned, Grand i10 only makes sense if one is opting for Sportz or above variants. I think from the Hyundai stable, Grand i10 sportz optional is the most VFM
variant considering that it has a really nice 7 inch entertainment system with Android auto/Apple car play. Before buying the car i was under the impression that Android auto is more of a gimmick but realized how wrong i was once i started using it. It comes in really handy while traversing through unknown roads. Even the parking sensors with real parking camera is a boon for new drivers such as me. I have traveled in both Wagon R and Celerio as a passenger and they are nowhere near Grand i10 when it comes to the sheer build quality and NVH levels. Even the ride quality leaves a lot to be desired. The much acclaimed Tata tiago with great quality interiors is still no match for the Grand i10. What goes against Tata Tiago is the mediocre 3 pot engine and poor NVH levels. Tata service is still a gamble in tier 2 and 3 cities. Area where the Tiago scores are good solid build, great ride quality, Safety kit and an excellent music system.
I believe the for a 5.5L to 6L budget, the best options today are available are Maruti Ignis and Hyundai Grand i10. If one can live the looks of Ignis, my vote will go for Ignis since Maruti is offering ABS
and dual airbags from the base trim on wards. After GST price cut, IGNIS delta variant is priced correctly. I would have happily picked the Ignis over Grand i10 if it was not for the quirky looks of Ignis and the irresistible discount of 60k offered on Grand i10.
