Was following this thread, good you didn't go for the Superb. The car was notorious for its mechatronics failures. Anyways my suggestion would be to go for a new car. Or a used new gen Octy. Believe me man, I have a Rapid and ASS
is not as bad as its made out to be. Only problem is their part procurement time. Apart from that, if you still want to buy a beemer then your best bet is the X1. Its a hoot to drive with all the features and looks genuine. I definitely think something's fishy in that 3 series deal. Also thats a bit too old. A 2011 model should be good. Get a check done at your nearest BMW dealer and you should be good to go. Regarding the 520d, don't touch it with a pole. Might be that the car is well maintained et all but this is the time when there is a need for replacement of parts and its never good to buy such a high odo reading german cars. My take- Negotiate with the X1 guy and get the car. Also test drive it before and see if it tugs the right strings. That's what made us go with our X3. Good luck.
