Can you say why you don't want maruti, because i had a wagonr and i went again for Swift, i find Maruti has improved a lot in standards.
Hyundai is true performer and has lots of gizmos in offer, but the service costs are not that pocket friendly, and for the price one pays for the parts the parts life is under question.
Rough use-Hyundai best (It withstands the abuse)
Most other brands won't withstand this.
Actually we have a maruti swift dzire at my native i Kolkata which my dad drives and my brother has tata indigo. Tus i want something which differs...nothing against maruti or tata just that i dont want the same brand twice in my house.

Test drive Baleno, EcoSport, i20, Jazz, Polo (in Alphabetic Order, nothing else) in that "Mad traffic Mysuru NH" and see which car you like overall.
Sure there are some questions which are in my mind which if answered will be very nice:-
1. As per website survey and google searches i found figo has the best safety kit among hatchbacks but what about its driving experience on highways?
2. How is the driving experience of Polo and jazz? I have read that i20 petrol is not that good, but is it so poor that we cant even consider it? and Fuel efficiency of Polo petrol, okayish I feel?
But test drive I will do very soon and then may be it will clear my head.
