Buying a Second Hand Honda City: ZX or i-vtec

Dear Members,

I currently own a Tata Manza petrol 2010 model, done 93000 kms which i plan to give to my dad.
I'm planning to buy a used Honda City ZX or Honda City Ivtec, model 2008-09. My budget is 3-3.5 laks. I'm based at Shimla and have to go to Chandigarh for this purchase.

Pls advise on Zx or ivtec or any related info. I intend to drive this veh. for next 3-4 years.

Looks like your running is high and I think diesel would be efficient then petrol.

I own a 2009 Honda City i-vtec VMT and its really a outstanding car. I have been using it 2 years 4 months and till date, I have not faced any issues nor did any parts replacement. Except battery, filters, and customs mods. Maintenance is reasonable but not as TATA or Maruti. Mileage within city range is from best 11 to worst 8 kmpl. In highways, its 15 kmpl max. Interior space is very roomy as well as boot. Driving comfort is so good that whoever drives it, loves it but I don't let anyone drive my car.

One thing to notice is less ground clearance but it was improved after 2012 facelift models. If the area you drive around has unscientific bumps, pit holes then you may look for alternatives. i.e SX4

Zx looks little small and lacks some important features (Like ABS, EBD, Airbags) that are present in i-vtec. In your budget, 2009-10 i-vtec can be found easily.
