If we remove the 'price' barrier then actually it is the Mobilio which is a better vehicle nearly every way. It's just that when price comes into the picture then the Ertiga gains more points due to a good 2-3 lac price difference. Have it been a difference of 1-1.5 lac and it was the Mobilio all the way then.
1) Dash maybe is a straight lift from Amaze but plastic quality is definitely better. Adding to this, the ergonomics are simply faultless. I doubt if your father will have to even remove his back from the backrest to reach some button or even the middle A/C vent while driving.
2) Steering is so well calibrated that Ertigas' wheel will always feel heavy and uncomfortable against that of Mobilio, especially in the city.
3) All round visibility is way way better than anything else in the segment
Adding to these are the previous points I mentioned. 1500 cc is 1500 cc after all and 100 horses with a very linear torque delivery just add more to the driving comfort. I don't find a reason why a man in his 50's looking for a reasonably practical car won't like a Mobilio over others in the segment.
Lodgy and Enjoy!! Naa
Lodgy is a weird looking 'pakka cab' type vehicle which seems to be promising a lot but there is nothing like aspirational value in it. Heck, even this Innova driver haven't got an urge to check it once in his life till date.
Enjoy, well.. No offence to owners but why even this car exists is my question. It is better suited to Chinese maybe, from where it came but not for India IMO
. The power and torque are low for the weight it carries and then transferring already low quantity to rear wheels with even higher transmission losses. I guess any person coming from a Honda City like the father of our OP won't find anything to go for in an Enjoy at least.
