Delivery of the Polo Scheduled at 1 PM today!
I am super-excited as I write this. Last night was a sleepless night, full of thoughts of the new car entering the garage and my life. There was some guilt feeling for abandoning the Liva, though, in the middle of its journey with me. The Liva has been very faithful during its journey with me and has proved that it is a true workhorse. Although I drove it very sedately, it never let me down and alone in the middle of the road. It performed how it was meant to perform : Rock solid reliability, Gem of an engine (drivability-wise) and Oodles of space on offer. Now that it would be used as a taxi, I had to strip off the ICE equipment (speakers, amplifier, etc.), GPS and HIDs and got the stock units fitted back yesterday. It feels bad to let her go so early (just 33k kms) but the excitement of the Polo entering my life is just so overwhelming.
Any way, coming to the new car. After doing extensive tests on the TD car, finally the time has come to get my hands on my own flat-bottom steering!
I woke up at 5 AM today and started looking at the brochure of the Polo, which the SA had mailed me. One stupid thing I had done was that I missed the Parking Sensors completely, even during 2 PDIs! The tight space at the yard and dust-covered car might be the reason for overlooking the presence of parking sensors on the Polo (I thought that my car (Dec 2014) might not have sensors). At 8 AM, called the accessory guy (aftermarket) to make sure that he has the accessories, I had decided earlier, in stock as I didn't want to spoil a brand new car waiting at the crowded shops. He gave a thumbs up and next call was made to Dad and Mom, to come over here (Faridabad) for completing the paperwork and other formalities. Then called up the SA at 9 AM to confirm that the car would be ready by 1 PM. "Sir I have not reached the dealership. Control your excitement!" was the reply I got. Got a thumbs up from the SA a few minutes back. I have asked him to remove the plastic covers from the interiors and to not do any fancy decoration (with flowers, ribbon is alright) on the car. I think I would opt for some basic floor mats also, as floor mats are not available with my accessory guy. Decided to stay with the Alnac 4G tyres for now. Sharing the final quote once again: VW Polo TDI Highline

Now the question is about Extended Warranty and AMC. I am going for extended warranty for 3rd and 4th year at Rs. ~11.2k. Can I negotiate on this? Regarding AMC, I am confused whether to go for it or not. SA says that it is at a nominal cost of Rs. 1130 per month and would cover periodic as well as running repair maintenance every 15k kms. I would be covering 36k in one year and would be incurring 15k (expected) as service cost for 2 services (1 service every 6 months). The AMC costs Rs. ~13k for 1 year/15k kms. If AMC can be opted at a later stage (before completing 1 year), I would skip it for now. Need your views on this. Note to MODS :
Please EDIT the title suitably and do NOT close the thread till I post the TD reviews of 2/3 cars which are almost complete, for the benefit of readers.
