Hello guys

I am wishing to replace my WagonR 2011 CNG with a diesel hatchback. I would like to seek some help from the more experienced ones. The priority for my new car is cost of maintenance, running cost,after sales service, performance, comfort(wont be bothered too much about OVRM, power windows fog lamps etc.). I would be majorly using it for city/city-like driving conditions.

I have the following options in my mind, feel free to add any other options that you may feel relevant.

1. Maruti Suzuki Swift VDI
choice of many, though a small boot and less legroom on the rear is a led down, personally I dont like the plastics and color tones used in swift (but still would buy it if no other viable option)

2. Toyota Liva GD
best in class service(acc to my impression), cost of maintenance is lowest, no tachometer, noise of diesel engine on higher side(not too sure), too much hung ho about pathetic interiors(atleast online). Is the current updated liva as pathetic(in interiors)?

3. Hyundai Grand i10 Asta Diesel
not sure about anything neither +ves nor -ves. can it seat 5 people? diesel performance good? what about its parts and after sales cost?

if you are ok with Average AC then Grand i10 is good to go.
Wow what a car to drive in city traffic it drives just like a petrol car.
Liva sounds like tractor. lol

City Driving
Grand i10 > Liva > swift

Highway driving
Swift > Liva == Grand

Interiors
Grand > swift >> Liva

Exterior styling
Grand == Swift > Liva
Swift is bulk from outside but thoroughly fails coming to interior space

Driving Ergonomics
Grand > Liva == Swift

Reliability & Maintainence.
What to say more about toyoto

Rear seat comfort
Liva >> grand > swift.

your question regarding can it seats 5 people
Yes it do but not comfortable for 200+kms.

Swift is damn joke if you compare it with Liva coming to back seat comfort.

Dear Friend,

I will recommend Hyundai Grand i10 Asta Diesel from wish list.

If you don't have any constrains for tata vehicles you might consider Tata Indica Vista VX Quadrajet BS IV .
