i also wanted a new car registered in my name as first onwer and also it will be reliable since i had a tight budget i decided on brio exclusive edition. but the space at the rear for three was a tight fit and also every bumps were felt easily. just now checked safari with the help of a local mechanic and my cabie friend.
* AC belt is loose.
* headlight left side high beam is fused.
* the right side headlight is changed reason: given by the owner the car headlight was hit by a stone that came from the road beaucase of a truck going over it.
the mechanic rode the vehicle for 10kms in city and porur- tambaram toll way. he says the vechile is perfect.
list of things changed in last service:
vechile was serviced in concorde motors chennai when the odo was 52000.
engine oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, wheel alignment, sediment cleaning and draining, brake pads, brake oil and clutch fluid.
i cross checked with concorde about the km regarding. the mechanic said there tyres aren't in good condition. It can hold another 10,000kms but needs to be changed.
impression of the test drive:
the owner of the car is so great that he gave me the car along with the mechanic and my cabie. i took the car to my home and made my family sit and we road. the space is not a problem. vehicle took the bad roads and pot holes with ease. well after being in hatchback cars, travelling in safari made me feel the comfort and premium luxury of the car. i had some tough time driving the car as the engine felt very different from a petrol one. i need to spend some time behind the steering wheel of my safari to be more confident in the city but on the highway crusing at 100 was a piece of cake. the air con was great. front, rear floor and roof mounted. the car had pioneer DVD player and 4 clarion speakers.
the insurance of the vehicle ends in Nov 2014. so i have nothing to spend as for now. I tried negotiation the deal he said the car doesn't come with dvd player and speakers and alloy wheels. he has put it as an addition. i asked the deal for 3.90 lakhs and he said 4.30 lakhs. i'm not sure of buying the safari. but the space and comfort and luggaging capacity of the car confuses my mind and stops me from going for brioAttachment 117561
