Advice on Buying a Second Hand Hatchback

Hi TAIn's,

i am going to buy a used tata indica diesel car need your valuable advices from your end.


Details of the car

Make : Tata Indica DLE

Model 1999

KMS Driven : 145000

Seller Quoting price = 80K

Condition of the car

Body=OK Manageable(Photos attached)

Interiors= Dash board Need some fixes or replacement

Seats= Driver side seat torn rest all the seats are in good condition with art leather

Tires= New Less than 3000 Kms Driven

Engine= recently done rebuild still in running in

Color = Maroon

Battery = New one less than two months old

Now coming to my requirement
almost used in highway drives only city drive is too less
so i want less maintenance cost+ running cost my budget is too less ie<75K
so i selected this car.

please share your valuable inputs to the same.

If you want lesser maintenance cost, I would suggest that you avoid the Indica. Older generation Tatas are not the most reliable cars.

I would ask you to invest just a little more and take a look at cars like Santro, Nano, Wagon R, etc.

I would sincerely advise you to stay off from 1st Gen Indicas. They came with loads of trouble. Hope you do not want to get stuck in highways at night with this.

Please, stay away from old indicas. The proper model came after 2007 only. You might get a used nano at this amount.
