In my point of view best will be Honda City.
Hassel free car.
Run like hot knife on the butter.
Very good resell value.
Minimal maintenance but spare part are very costly. But do not worry, honda's spare last really long.

2) Good Auto climate control

Cons
1) Expensive to maintain
2) Cant bet on its engine

VW vento
Pros
1) Solid build quality

Now this is a no brainer: Honda City is the car to go for.
Whatever you wish, City delivers may it be comfort, safety, performance, ride, handling, FE...you ask the City for it and it gives. As an overall package, it is the City by every way.

If you are looking for petrol than noting beats the Honda City. And if you want a diesel than Verna is the best option as it is a VFM and provides a lot features as well.

BTW what's your monthly running and your requirements?

Budget: (Rs.8 - 11 Lakh)

New or Used: (New Car)

Your Location: (Mumbai, India)

Top Five Priorities: (Comfort, Low Maintenance, Safety, Design, Luggage Space)

Monthly Running: (Between 200 – 500 Kms)

Type of Fuel: (Petrol)

For What Purpose: (Regular Use)

Seating Capacity: (Maximum 5 Adults)

Type of Segment: (Sedan)

I’ve test driven Verna Fluidic, Honda Citi & VW Vento.
Pending test drive is Fiesta & Rapid.

Verna is out, as i did not like the handling and rear seating was uncomfortable.
The shock absorbers of the citi test car were pathetic as it was an very old car. So, plan to visit another dealer over the weekend.

As of now, Veto in the only one that meets my expectation.

@Dipendra:
Based on your priorities I think you should go with Honda City. You mentioned about the pathetic suspension I suggest you to visit other dealer and TD, having said that I must say that Vento's suspension is better tuned that ANHC suspension but Honda is not bad.

According to your priority list I think Honda City will rank first on all, only grouse with any Honda is the lack of low end torque but once you overcome that iVtec is a gem of an engine very rev friendly and abuse resistant.
All the best for your search [thumbsup]

Looking at your monthly running it's a petrol ride for you and Honda City is the way to go buddy.

Vento is good as well but make 5 people sit in the car and the GC reduces to much compared to other cars in the segment.

If you like Vento for its handling and build quality then you won't find these think in any korean of jap car just go for any europian car like vento, rapid. Ford is also good in this department.

BTW you can also consider linea T-jet, normal 1.4 linea. You can get good discounts on them. Just have a TD.

From Sedan to Mini-SUV, scope expanded. After reading the EcoSport review, i think i’ll will wait to test drive EcoSport before finalizing my car. Looks like it’s launching on 11th June.
