registration- rs. 24771 (but according to online rto web site, it is 4% of ex showroom price of vehicles costing below rs. 6lacs which means it shoud be rs.19800)
insurance- rs. 3668
logistics/handling- rs. 6761(is this a necessary amount that has to be paid? )
insurance 10k free
further discount of rs. 3000
car cover free
total otr amount- rs. 528100
should i ask the dealer to lower the rto amount? can i negotiate with him even after booking the vehicle? | The handling charge is too much, and the difference in the registration amount is the extra registration charge other than road tax they charge from us.
So they are charging above 10000k as reg: charge and handling charge.
In short they take back the free 10k insurance with these special charges,a good bargain will save you at least 5k.
Goodluck Bro.

| Re: New Car Dilemma (Under Rs.5.5 Lacs) Will go to the dealer and ask for freebies if he doesn't lower the amount because I have already inquired with 2 other dealers and they too are quoting similiar price. No lowering of either registration or handling from them too.. So will be pushing for some freebies if not discount.. |

| Re: New Car Dilemma (Under Rs.5.5 Lacs) hey thanks for that link.. will get a printout of that snippet and talk to the dealer.. now i wont look for accessories but will insist for cash..
i am still surprised that even after the court has ordered these extra charges to be waived off, still dealers charge us with these.. mostly they just rename these charges.. not even a single dealership was ready to lower these charges.. |

Try for freebies for same price.
E.g. I got OE Fog lamps, Body Cover etc. |

Accessories were not easily compromised. They were negotiated after hard bargain. Usually dealers give simple accessories for free e.g. mats, mud flaps. But if you want better ones , negotiate hard. |

| Re: New Car Dilemma (Under Rs.5.5 Lacs) Not possible i also tried, they gave receipt on the name of handling and incidental expenses. But i had already availed 45K cash discount + around 15K accessories. So no problem for me . |

| Re: New Car Dilemma (Under Rs.5.5 Lacs) Yes that is what I was trying to make a point. If you get the money's worth in other way round, it does not matter if you pay the handling charges. |

| Re: New Car Dilemma (Under Rs.5.5 Lacs) In my case i came to know about the handling charges amount only at the time of delivery it was 7.5K, so could not have done much. I had in my mind about these charges but i thought it would be maximum to the tune of 2-3K but seeing 7.5K receipt at the time of delivery i did asked him about that. |

Did you buy the car via Co lease ? Usually dealers hide these charges to leasing cos and charge to end customers when they pay up. |

| Re: New Car Dilemma (Under Rs.5.5 Lacs) No that is not the case, actually he did gave the breakup but not the detailed one. He gave Road Tax +Handling charges total amount around 70K. I also did not bother to ask specifically the handling charges. I was more interested on the cash discount on the On-road price. So negotiated on that and the free accessories. I had taken Honda PU seat covers, reverse parking sensor, rear speakers, guardian remote locking, car cover, rubber mats, puncture repair kit and Teflon coating free of cost apart from 45K cash discount . nevertheless, i have compiled a sort of package for the dealer sort of a mixture of the judgment, notice, newspaper articles and some incidents where the dealer waived off the charges( courtesy Internet ).. will take the hard copies to the dealer tomorrow..
one thing, i am VERY BAD at bargaining..s o any advice on how to deal/put my points and also not to screw up the deal? |
