When I had purchased car in 2006 company had given ICE free to us.
It is a Maruti ICE (by kenwood) + Front and back speakers.
As the tape was 6 old the HU does not have USB connectivity. It supports only CD and FM.
CD's often get scratched and I cant have many CD's in my car every-time its quite annoying to use CD's.
FM stations here in Pune are pathetic.they continuously play irritating songs all day.
So I was searching for info about how to connect a USB pen-drive to existing car tape.
I was not willing to spend extra to change the existing HU as it is working quite well only missing USB connectivity.
So I got external USB connector in a local car accessories shop.
It is basically a FM transmitter
All it requires a Socket to connect in cigarette lighter slot. (cost 200 Rs)
Chinease Transmitter device (cost Rs 500) (6 months warranty)
To this device we can connect -
1. A USB pen-drive (8 GB)
2. i pod/i phone
3. Memory card
There is also a nice remote control - to change songs and to set frequency. Total cost is Rs 700
Sound quality is good.
No I enjoy the songs which I like during driving
