yes, i am not an audiophile, so guys, please dont expect high end stuffs in my car. instead you can find some pretty basic stuff in here...

it all started when i bought my car in may 08. i had little knowledge about ICE then (even now i dont know much!) & i installed a sony woofer + sony 6x9s + sony 2ch amp!!!
as soon as i got the delivery of my car, i realized somthing was amiss! i just had not got what i expected.

1st upgrade: after some months, i changed the useless sony woofer to a JBL bass tube & changed the 2 ch amp to a 4 ch one. i did this in a shop in mulund & i was very much infuriated by their shoddy work & low knowledge on the same.

2nd upgrade: (before starting anything, I would like to thank ramie because he was the mastermind behind this, kudos to him...) when i felt like nothing is working, i got in contact with ramie (also, my HU had broken) & met him today. he heard my system & came out pretty sad. the first thing he said when he had a look at my HU was "is this what mahindra provided as OE?" (now i know what you mean ramie!) i had a limited budget of 10,000 ONLY & i was selfish enough to want a HU as well as front components within that budget. again, a special thanks to ramie for making this happen! finally my second upgrade happened as follows:
* useless nippon HU changed to pioneer 5050.
* again useless stock front speakers changed to VTREK compos.
i am very happy with this new setup & it is defnitely a vast improvement over my previous setup. ITS MONEY WELL SPENT. also, thanks to ramie for spending time to listening to my setup after the installation, taking time to tune & set it properly. in the end, i am a happy man...

3rd upgrade: to be continued...

Pics will be added as soon as i upgrade to amateur from rookie.

Hi Raj,

Can you quote the amount spent on each items?
HU - pio 5050 - Rs. 6800/-
Vtrek compos - Rs. 2800/-
JBL basstube - Rs. 6500/-
Sony 4 ch amp - Rs. 5000/-
Sony 400W speakers (a big mistake) - Rs. 3500/-

Total including installation - Rs. 25,000/-

just 2800 for the components?
5" or 6"?
6".

i have posted the pic of the tweeters, the same ones are installed in my car.
the crossover is hidden under the dashboard & the grill was thrown during the installation (!!), hence no pics, sorry.

just checked its website, it doesnt have any stylish grill at all, its just a plane old mesh[:(]
i was looking for some components for my ride and ill have to stick the cross over, speaker and tweeter outside so that they are visible, so i was looking for some nice attractive grills

FINE! this time i am in no hurry! lots of ICE upgrade to happen in my car.

on basis of priority-
1) remove the subwoofer from the basstube & install it in a custom made PDF box
2) buy a new 2 channel amp or a mono amp
3) change the VTREK compos to JBL or better ILLUSION
4) change the rear co-axials to JBL or Ground Zero

and the best part is- "i have no money"! So, any donors can please PM me.

I dont know when this will happen (the 1st & second will happen pretty soon) but i am really desperate to achieve the perfect sound in my car!

Hey raj
You have been bitten by the ICE bug.
Its better to go for a 4 ch amp bridge 2 channels to the woofer and 2 channels to the Front Components.

Can you help me finetune my system as well.i'm in a mess[confused]

About the first -
Can the first thing you mentioned be done ? Never knew or heard anything of that sort before. The base tubes are perfectly calculated to get the best thump.
If it does happen the i guess you will again spend time and efforts making the right size box.(Had read a big article long time ago on net on how to calculate and make right dimension boxes for the sub's to get the max out of them)
Instead you can go for box woofer by JBL,just plug and you are done.

About the second -
mono block amp's are the best, more performance oriented, they will get the max out of your sub.I guess they are costly too.If on budget & want more from you components then 4 channel is the way to go.
