I want to install a sub woofer in my Ertiga, i already replaced front speakers with pioneer components & till now not installed a amp.

now i am planing to install a active sub woofer & then later followed by a 4 channel amp for door speakers.

for sub woofer i am confused between under seat sub vs a normal 8" active sub.

if anyone installed a under seat sub then please share review as it will shave a lot of space.

i have shortlisted 2 subs

I would suggest the underseat active subwoofer for following reasons.

1. Ertiga is a small car and if u use the box type then definitely the luggage space wouldbe utilised by this box.

2. This will be placed at the very rear of the car so definitely there would be slight offset for the beat you would want to hear when you are driving or sitting in the middle row.

3. I have head this (underseat one) beauty and it give a sorround sound feel and feels like stock ICE has been upgraded.

4. the price is really great. Now I am inclined to buy it [;)]

If you want only mild base then Shallow sub is good for you, for sure.

But if you want nice base then opt for a normal sub, but at least 10".

Get a custom sealed enclosure made to the specs.

You'll also need an amp if you opt for later option.

4 channel amp would suffice,

Use 2 channels to power front compos and other 2 to power sub by bridging.

is it possible to make a custom under seat sub woofer that can run from a amplifier ?
i am planning to create my own box & want to fit a 10" sub in it to fit under second row seat, a 4 channel amp under front passenger seat that will power front components & a sub.

Any sub needs a proper volume,

Making an enclosure is not a big task,

But it is to make with required volume.

If you don't have any other option but to keep it under seat,

Then go for shallow subs with inbuilt amp available in the market.
