Assuming, you choose to stay as it is (Point 1), you will also need to calcuate the Fuel Bills for the next 2 years, which is 7-8K today and a substantial increase as per the recent Hike Trend. The maths which I worked out earlier for you will get you an approximate number/month.

Now, what you should calculate is, the difference between the Fuel Bills (as above) and the new investment. Then you have the answer.[thumbsup]

No Figoian. We don't mind it.

Amiti, Just let me know the diesel and petrol prices in Pune. Sorry for not knowing that and average you assume you would get in a diesel car and on Alto K10. Just a realistic guess.

Hi Amiti,

In absence of petrol / diesel price list of Pune. I have calculated it based on Delhi rate. You can get an idea about it and perform calculation at your end using following file.

I hope it will be of some help to you. Do let me know if there is any issue in understanding it or other also. [:)]

Re: The Definitive Petrol v/s Diesel Calculator

yes I did, however the savings are between 45-50 k per year.

Now we need to factor in cost of new car as well.

Assume that I buy alto k10, price is 3.5 lacs( which I intend to buy in cash) on road. Considered only petrol here. Average of k10 is 15 in city.
