Fuel Efficiency Figures of Your Cars

Hello Motorist's

This is a discussion on. What Mileage Your Car gives You and how you calculate your car's FE

I was Surprised as no Thread was present regarding Mileage & FE or maybe i might have missed it .so i decided to open up a thread to discuss & Compare The Fuel Economy the Car Given to the end user.

It maybe petrol or diesel, Mileage is Crucial to us as for the Never Ending Fuel Hike

So A simple Question.

what kind of fuel efficiency does your beloved give u??

I Own a Swift VDI March 2012
For the first month my swift's FE was between 11-12 [surprise]KM-PL
now after 3 & Half Months it Still Gives me 16KMPL of mileage.
as for 16kmpl i was surprised but was convinced by my maruti service center
manager who informed me that this is normal for swift under city driving.

As For calculating Fe i fill the tank to it's fullest I personally shake the car(much to the amusement of onlookers) when the guy fills in. So my tankful is actually tankful
next the Trip A meter is set to 0
After about a normal city driving of 80-100kms i refuel the car to tank full ( The same Way ) .
then divide the number of km on TRIP A with liter's of fuel poured into the tank , and i get a rough idea about the FE of my swift

Looking forward for Everyone's Views and FE of their Car

hope you all like this thread
I apologize for my Grammar or if i have in any way broken any rules of this forum

Regards
Jatin

Re: FE and User Reviews

I am not sure if its the only thread where people would talk about FE because I might have seen the other ones.

I have 2 non economical cars that I can never expect to give me a good mileage.

Nissan Skyline R33 Series II , 2.5 Litre turbocharged petrol ( premium unleaded)
This car does typically 400KMs in one tank of Premium Unleaded (55 litres)

This narrows it down to 7 KMPL if driven like a Grandma.
If you drive it like a normal Skyline guy ( means fast and the furious way) , it gives you 300 KMs Per tank , 5.4 KMPL mileage.

Ford Falcon XT Mark II , 4 Litre 6 cylinder NA rear wheel drive .

This car is just a raw power , Fuel economy wise yet another thirsty beast. Since its a Semi Auto , it drinks what it needs. 65 Litre tank does about 470 kms . Giving 7.2 Kms/ L mileage.

You got a pretty good ride Codename47 :)
And 7.2 for a semi auto ford is good ,isn't it ?

Re: FE and User Reviews

First of all,it is mentioned that what kind of FE does our 'beloved' gives us,hence first is my Pulsar 220.
  • Vehicle :Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-i
  • Fuel :Petrol[:D]
  • Calculation Method :Tankful method/Kms method.
  • City Mileage:Its 35-40 kpl.
  • Highway Mileage:40-45 or even higher, can go up to even 50.

Second comes my Corolla..
  • Vehicle :Toyota Corolla D-4D G
  • Fuel :Diesel[anger]
  • Calculation Method :Tankful and MID.
  • City Mileage:It varies between 13-16 in my hand and 15-17 in my chauffy's hand.
  • Highway Mileage:It's about 12-13 at high speed drives and 19-20 in normal drives in my hand and 21-22 kpl in chauffy's hand.

Honda city 'S' i-vtec(this car belongs to best friend but is driven as much as the Corolla only and hence is partially mine)
  • Vehicle :Honda City 'S' i-VTEC
  • Fuel :Petrol[:D]
  • Calculation Method :Tankful and MID.
  • City Mileage:13-14 kpl.
  • Highway Mileage:8-9 kpl while doing insane speeds and 18-19 kpl while driving sanely. In MID we have seen upto 23.2 kpl.

My father's car 'Skoda Laura TSi'(it came at last because its least driven by me)
  • Vehicle :Skoda Laura 1.8 TSi Ambiente
  • Fuel :Petrol.
  • Calculation Method :Kms method and MID.
  • City Mileage:11-12 kpl in chauffy's hand and 9-10 kpl in mine.
  • Highway Mileage:14-15 kpl in my hand and 15-17 kpl in chauffy's.
(Thanks to turbocharger that this engine gives really outstanding FE if driven sanely and with patience)

Re: Fuel Efficiency Figures of Your Cars

Fiat Punto 90 hp -

Very dense city traffic - Only first and second gear and top speed of about 20 kmph - 11.5 kmpl

Dense city traffic - First 4 gears with average speed of about 30 kmph - 14.5 kmpl

Light city traffic - Sundays with average speed of 50 kmph - 17 kmpl

Low speed Highway runs @ about 60-90 kmph - 20 kmpl

High speeds Highway runs @ about 120 kmph average - 15 kmpl

All figures with 100% AC and heavy foot! Punto does not perform with light foot, so heavy foot is mandatory.

My dear,it sounds impossible to me too many times, and yes..these figures are with 100% A/C.
Ask any City owner and you will come to know that city really gives this FE.
And yes, this is 'purely' highway FE,not overall.

Rest +100000000 to Raj's heavy foot concept, ask me I am driving a Corolla D-4D,light foot means, this car refuses to even move in a right manner many times.Only heavy foot.

^^Buddy the city mileage of your Swift and bike, both is astonishing. How you manage to get it?
And same is with the highway FE.Again same question. How you manage such astonishing figures which are very hard to digest for at least me?
