Dear All,

I am an Indian national currently living in Italy. I own a 1953 Series One Land Rover and it is stored in Mangalore, India. I am its registered owner over the last 25 years. I use it when I visit India once in two years. Since I will be settling down here, I would like to export it from India - so that I can use it regularly and enjoy it here more!

Is there any restriction in India on exporting old cars -though it is in my own name? Which ministry issues export licence for this? Who should I contact for getting more info?

Thank you all in advance for your help!

Anith,
Rome (Italy)

Re: Exporting my Land Rover to Europe

Hi, I have seen many UAE and other country registered cars temporarily imported for 6 months period and being used in Indian roads. But never heard anyone exporting cars from India other than OEMs. Read about this ATA Carnet system in another automotive forum in a similar discussion. Hope it helps.
