Ameyam | Gear oil is not required at all. For engine oil and oil filter it took me < Rs 1200. The cabin filter was Rs 350 more. |

Ameyam | Why would we be recommended a run in ?The run-in involves settling the piston rings and ensuring that the bearings and cylinders wear evenly. As with all new engines, because of this you will find that some metal slivers have found their way into the oil. An oil change after a 1000 km ensures they are thrown out. Also do not use synthetic oil for the first 10,000 km. The impressive lubrication properties of synthetic oil only slow the run-in process. |

| Re: Dealer Offering 2 Month Old Car For Immediate Delivery Had a look at the engine oil this morning. Cleaned the dip stick into some tissue. Very oily, not black at all. That means only one thing- these k series engines are pre-run on the dyno at the factory before they are installed. Hence no reason to replace oil at 1st service. Will get it replaced in due course though

Ameyam | If it is then great. However if they are pre run then why do they have a run in period mentioned in the manual. Also I am not saying that the oil will be burnt or be black. They will have very fine metal slivers in it which we will not be able to see by checking the oil from a dip stick. But that's only my thought. An out of time engine oil change won't harm the engine in any way that's for sure. |

Congratulation on your new cars. Good to see a lot of new petrol ritzes on the forum. ( which was not the case earlier )
Please post some pictures of your cars. And also you can start your ownership reviews which you can build up as you get time.
By the way you can find the ownership review of my ritz lxi on the forum. I am a happy owner for the past 1.5 years / 14k Kms. |

Otherwise they will not change it if the need arises. |
