My Mahindra Quanto is approaching its second free service in 2 weeks. During the first service I had to pay Rs. 2400. A.S.S did an Engine Spray after cleaning and charged me Rs. 600 + Rs. 1800 for Service. I read somewhere that the 2nd Free service will be Rs 3400 where they will be changing the Differential oil as well.

My Questions are
1. Do we require Engine Treatment during every service (Treatment means sparying Engine compartment to prevent rust (as was told by SA)).
2. Does differential oil needs replacement during 2nd free service which according to Mahindra is 10,000 Kms but my vehicle has run only 4500 Kms.
3. Is there anything else required other that Engine Oil and oil filter change?

Any Quanto users can help me? I live in Hyderabad and use Automotives A.S.S

Re: 2nd Free Service Query - Mahindra Quanto

You need to refer the manual to ascertain what needs to be done in the 2nd service.

anything else mentioned by the service centre , you can refuse to pay for services , if proper consent was not given by you.

register yourself at withyouhamesha.com http://http://www.withyouhamesha.com/ for service details for every Mahindra vehicle.

Engine treatment is not necessary at all. it doesnt make that much of a difference as Hyderabad is generally dry. You can get it done once a year or so.

Chk out the differential oil detials in your user manual if it says it needs to be changed in the 2nd service it will have to be changed as otherwise Mahindra can claim negligence on your part and void you off the warranty. better still make a call to customer care number of mahindra xylo and get your doubts cleared.

I am already registered with withyouhamesha. I could not find any info on changing differential oil just that another member had to pay for it. Thanks

The Mahindra service manual has a table on what needs to be done at every free service & even thereafter. Labour is free & consumables are chargeable. Anything apart from that can be refused.

differential oil - does this mean topup which usually means filling the fluid back to the top max position in case it has reduced due to leakages etc.? Then yes this is necessary & the quantity should be very small maybe 250ml or 500ml max but what service centres do is buy a 1 litre bottle & use some for your car & keep the rest which could cost you a few hundred rupees extra.
