Hi,

Was just wondering if there was a way to lock the steering wheel, after the car has been parked. Tried a google search, but to no avail. Also went through many topics and posts here, but didnt find it anywhere. so just wanted to know if the steering wheel could actually be locked.

Awaiting your replies.

Almost all modern cars come with a built-in steering wheel lock. Take the key out from ignition switch and turn the steering wheel. The steering should lock itself.

pulling the steering wheel ? as in pulling it in the front?
The steering should be ‘turned’ not ‘pulled’ and direction doesn’t matters. It could be either left or right. Do read the ownership manual to become familiar with the car.

to unlock it , put the key in the ignition and hold the key. with the other hand move\turn the steering both sides and while doing this rotate ( normally turn the key like you always do to start the car ) the key and it'll unlock.

well this is OT but my dad's NHC (2008 model) recently got into a situation wherein the steering lock got jammed because the steering lock "locked" itself in a position from where it could not be unlocked at all.He called honda helpline they broke the lock towed the car to service station made new keys and gave a bill of 13k[anger]. The towing charges itself were 3k because the car had to be towed from Meerut to ghaziabad.

oh God, that was real bad.. one small mistake, and such heavy loss and inconvenience you had to face.. its better i leave the steering wheel as it is, w/out experimenting much :P[frustration]
