Explanation of Membership Ranks and Promotions

The Automotive India has certain membership levels which are offered to the members on basis of their participation and quality of posts. In total, there are four initial ranks to which the member is promoted depending upon their post count, after which for next two ranks the decision is solely based on our internal team’s judgement. Following is the list of membership levels, their roles, criteria, and powers available to them.

> Novice Members (0 - 1 Posts)



Novice member are those who have just joined the forum. They enjoy basic benefits such as creating new threads and polls, submitting posts, using signatures, avatars, viewing member profiles etc. However, they cannot access Private Messenger facility and their first post is approved by a moderator before appearing online. This is done to prevent unwelcome spammers and also to observe whether a new member is posting in adherence to the forum policies or not.

> Rookie Members (2 – 10 Posts)



As soon as the first post of Novice rank holder is approved, he is promoted to the Rookie Membership. Here onwards, they can post on the forum without the moderation queue and continue to enjoy the basic benefits.

> Amateur Members (10 – 1,000 Posts)



Amateur members are somewhat experienced with the forum atmosphere and its functioning. They receive this title upon successfully completing 10 valid posts on the forum. Apart of all the features offered to Rookie Memberships, users with Amateur title can additionally access Private Messenger facility (200 messages capacity), upload total eight pictures of their vehicles in the inventory, and create calendar events.

> Professional Members (1,000+ Posts)



As the name suggests, professional membership holders are senior members of the forum who attain this level upon submitting 1,000 posts. Professional members are privileged with the facilities such as ability to upload profile picture, private messenger capacity of 400 messages and ability to upload twelve images in the inventory.

> Honoured Members (Exclusive Title)



Honoured Membership is an exclusive title, which is reserved for the members who have genuinely helped the forum to build up further through immense contribution in terms of regular long-term participation, productive posts, adhering to board policies and making others to follow them. Honoured members are privileged with special features such as access to Honoured Members Area, no advertisements on forum, ability to set as invisible user, personal TAI mail account and much more (Read Here).

> Maestro Moderators (Exclusive Title)



Members with Maestro badge are the moderators of The Automotive India. Their basic responsibility is to look after the forum and help fellow members on their queries. Moderators are also responsible for the management of the forum and therefore have the powers to edit, delete, move, merge, unapprove any post / thread or warn / ban a member if deemed fit in order to maintain the decorum.

> Elite Administrator (Exclusive Title)



Elite is the administrator of The Automotive India who although manages the overall website but also has the responsibilities of a moderator with extended powers. The action and decision of the administrator in any case will be the final.

Please note that the span may be extended for any rank or rights may be revoked anytime if someone is found disobeying the board policies despite warnings. Similarly, if a member contributes in the forum exceptionally well, they may be upgraded to a level above regardless of the post count.
