Hi

I booked New Fluidic Verna in end May 2011. I am expecting delivery of my new machine in next 10 days. Since i have opted for 1.6 Crdi (which comes without alloy wheels), i am looking at tyre/alloys upgrade. Stock car is equipped with set of 185/65/R15.

Can you please suggest a suitable upsize options? I was thinking of 195/55/R16 which is standard fitment in 1.6 Crdi SX version or else would prefer 205/55/R16 or as you friends may suggest.

1. Please suggest a suitable upgrade.
2. Which alloys and Which tires?

Monil.

Re: Tyre/Alloy Upgrade for New Hyundai Verna 1.6 Crdi

Hi monil; welcome to TAI.
Congrats for the ride. Hmm I think you should stick to 15'' rather than going for 16''. No doubt 16'' looks killer but you know the Indian road conditions. Nways I think best upgrade for 185/65/15 will be 195/60/15. Let others also share their knowledge.

Re: Tyre/Alloy Upgrade for New Hyundai Verna 1.6 Crdi

I think 185 section tyres itself offers plenty of road grip which should be just enough but if you want that extra appeal factor go for the 195/55 R16.

Alloys i leave it to your choice , go to any good tyre shop and get something in Neo , Plati ,HR etc etc which ever you like and feel will suit your car.

Tyres check out Yokohama S-drive or if you are willing to spend more check out Pirelli or Falken too.

what is 55 in 195/55/R16?

195 is tire size. R16 is radius. that's all i know. correct if m wrong.

Even i have booked non-alloy version of fluidic. so if i want to put 15" alloys, do i have to change tyres too or i can just put the alloys in the original tyre???

What are the good brands for alloys? My budgets will be 15 to 16k for alloys.

Need some suggestion. i have never bought alloys before.

195 is the width of the tyre
55 is the profile/height. Here it means 55% of 195.
R 16 is the diameter of the rim.

No if you are happy with that profile you can retain your old tyres. I think your car will come with 185/65/15 on steel rims. If you want broader tyres you will have to change. Similarly if you want 16" you will have to change the tyres too..

Re: Got Home My New Fluidic Hyundai Verna 1.6 CRDi

Hi Friends

As every enthusuastic car lover, after i booked my ANHV 1.6 CRDi, i had to wait till i got the beauty home last wednesday evening. Unfortunately, i had to travel out of of town for office work and managed to spin the wheels only yesterday .. 1 week, no one even touched it as i wanted to upgrade tires and put some nice alloys. [frustration]

Finally, after a long wait i am now upgrading tires. I was too keen on going ahead with 16' alloys but after putting 205/55/R16, we all realized that it might not be perfect fit and will add to probable discomfort on loaded car. I also thought of 195/55/R16 instead of 205/55/R16 but, unfortunately thats an odd size and only Bridgestone makes it, that too for ANHV. Others don't have same spec on offer as yet. [cry]

After much of an internal discussion with my bro and friends, considering various alloy designs, look of the car, tyre preference (MICHELIN ) & feedback, i am going ahead with the with Michelin Primary LC 195/65/R15 and set of alloy wheels. Two hours of waiting to get the alloys from stockyard till finish look.. worth the wait. I just loved it.

Cant say much about the stock tires as i drove it for mere 15 kms, post delivery. After alignment and balancing work, ride feels really smooth with minimal road noise. My dad is yet to see those but i am sure he will be fine with it.

Hope you will like it. I loved it. Will post some more clear pics on sunday.

Cheers to TAI friends.
Monil.

Hi guys

Finally i upgraded my tires and alloys. Thanks for your views. Instead of stock 185/65/R15 i upgraded tires to 196/65/R15 and got 15' alloys. [cheers]

What will be the lowest cost for good 16" alloys?
And lowest cost of tyres for R16 with ~205/55 ?

And what is low profile tyres exactly?? i mean how it differs ?

The above one is going out of my pocketmoney budget. I aint earning yet... but if i'll change i will put 16" ... so just want to know the approx cost...

Thanx :)

hey , put pics of ur alloys once u done. even m thinkin for same size alloy n tyres so just want to know how they will look. R15 will be smaller according to me as this car is muscular.

Thanx :)
