Hi all, [:)]

Could you please clarify my doubts about tyres upsizing.

My car is Wagon-R VXi - 2008 model. (not K series)

Maruti Wagon R tyre size is 155/65-R13, (Apollo acelere tyres)

I would like up upsize it to 175/60-R13

Is there any problems?

I would like to use 13" alloys soon, suggest me any other recommended tyre sizes.

Thank you!

Re: Questions about tyres up-sizing - Wagon-R VXi -2008

155/65/R13 is best profile , don't go beyond that ,as the handling characteristics will not be enhanced but reduced by upsizing beyond the limit.

Thanks for the update.

I know, but 155/65 is stock Wagon R tyre size because the car variant is VXi.

I would like to upsize it.

What about 165/60-R13?

Upsizing to 175/60R13 wont be a problem for back, but for front check if the tyre touches internal wall of wheel arc for extreme right and left steering.

If your suspensions are strong/stiff then you can surely upgrade to 175/60R13.

Yes you should upgrade to alloys for better usage and tyre fitment or lse you will end up with tyre with tube rather than tubeless .

You may ask tyre dealer to check 175/60R13 trial and if it works you could be lucky.
Or else get 165/60R13.

Potenza GIII is good tyre. I too have the same on my i20 with 205/60R14. I have upgraded from 185/65R14.

Hello,

Thanks, No need to take risk about 175 because its a family use car, better to go for 165.

I heard about Potenza GIII and its good reviews.

But, actually GIII is not available :(

I have checked with many dealers and they told me MY02 is only available in 165/60 R13 size.

Nice alloys, are these available in 14"?, did you paint the brake calipers & drums as a DIY?
Thanks! [:)]

I think same type 14" alloys are available.

No, I have painted the wheel hubs and calipers with the help of a spray painter in his workshop, attached the pics for your reference.

Thank you!
