I want to replace the tyres of my New Gen Swift Dzire with new ones.
Existing tyres are MRF ZVTV & tyre size is 185/65 R15.
What could be the better option to replace them, as my driving includes Well metalled highways, bad roads, single lane link roads also, switching on & off the metalled portion of road is too often on single roads.

I've shortlisted these options:
1) Bridgestone S290.
2) Continental.
3) Yokohama Earth 1.

Your replies are eagerly awaited.

Michelin xm2 brand rocks. I am using it for my Swfit ZXI and its worth for it by paying some of extra K as compare to others.

Got set of Bridgestone B290(correction as written above was B290 instead of S290) 185/65 R15 tyres for my Swift Dzire.

Grip levels are even better than MRF ZVTV but Road noise is almost Nil now.
But ironically, Fuel efficiency is dropped as per MID display, earlier which was used to display 23+ kmpl now it displays 20.7 kmpl.
Surprising, but have to find out the reasons for the change.

If you have changed your tyre size from 165 to 185 then this could be the reason.

There are 'n' numbers of reasons possibly;
- New tyres may be little heavy than older one
- the extra thread grip may cause little more friction
- wheel alignment & balancing may not have been properly done.
- tyres may not have been properly fixed.
- tyre pressure may be one more reason

Check out above all possibility.

Correction, earlier it was used to be 21.7-21.8 kmpl instead of 23+ as written above.
Now it is displaying 20.0-20.1kmpl as last week involved some spirited high speed driving sessions.

Tyre size & rim size is kept same i.e 185/65 R15.

- the extra thread grip may cause little more friction. Might be
- wheel alignment & balancing may not have been properly done. Done properly
- tyres may not have been properly fixed. Done correctly
- tyre pressure may be one more reason 31psi

Check out above all possibility.

Nothing to worry about. Lesser mileage might be due to the extra friction caused by the increased grip levels in the new tyres. Wait for these tyres to bed in and if you still face the issue after, say, 5000 kms, then you need to take action.

It might be your own driving style also! Any way, MID average is not exact or actual, in real life the drop would be much lesser than that indicated by the MID.

Edit - Would you mind sharing the cost for the tyres?

Yes.
Grip levels are improved exceptionally well.
FE though MID still displays 20.2-20.4 kmpl for average Fuel consumption, however in reality it came out to be roughly 21.4 kmpl(pretty much the same).
Rest all factors are same including driver, road terrain & terrain condition.
