Mine is a Wagon R LXI done 40K on my odo. It comes with stock tyres of JK. I am planning to change the tyres in another 5K along two steel rims.
My queries are
1. WagonR LXI comes with 145/80R13. Can i change R13 to R14 as VXI is 155/65R14?
2. If i change all steel rims to R14 with 165/80R14 is it not allowed or not possible?
3. What about Hancook tyres? One of my friend is using that in his Skoda Fabia and given a good feedback or else i plan for Bridgestone / Michelin

Since there are lot of options available, our TAI tech teams clarify my queries.

Thanks in advance

Hi kumargmks. Here are the answers to your queries:

1> Yes. You can change to 155/65R14, but you'd have to change the rims also in this case. You can, on the other hand, fit 145/80R14 on your existing rims.

2> I think it would not be possible and would result in a difference in diameter. If you want to upgrade to 14" rims/alloys, best would be to fit 155/65R14 tyres, that come with the Vxi.

3> I haven't used Hankook tyres. I have been running on MRFs for quite some time now and have also used Michelins in the past. I would recommend MRF from my experience.

Are you planning to add alloys?

1. he is using 13" rims. So 145/80R14 is not possible.I think he can try same size or 155/70-13 for upsize incase not interested to change rim size.

+1. Tires would be too tall. may be it would touch on the body and the meter readings will be faulty. Try 165/55-14 or 165/60-14

Hankook may be more costlier compared to MRF/JK. I didnt used that tire, so cant comment more on comfort and lasting.

Two of my rims is damaged when i checked and MASS has suggested to change it. Any way i have to change it so i plan to change all the five to 14''

155/65-R14 is the spec for Wagon R VXI. So if i change it to that spec, whether that will touch the body or affect the odo reading?

This is only to know whether that ia good or not. Any way my plan was either Bridgestone/Michelin/Appolo ( tubeless)
