d2r is Single beam bulb and cutoffs are managed by the optics. that's not possible in h4 headlights.
for h4 bi xenon setup you have a sort of shield actuated by magnet or motor that controls light output for low and high beam.
in halogen h4 there are 2 different filaments for the same effects. one with shield and one without.
I'll contact you when I'm around Bombay.
Ya you are correct bi xenons use a solenoid to move the shield and halogens have two filaments for low and high beam each. D2R are single beam units as you correctly mentioned - no doubts about that
What I meant by adjustment of light throw is, the adapter comes with a shield that controls the upward glare and helps focus light in the right areas when you fit the lights with stock halogen reflectors, since you were worried about the glare due to stock reflectors.

I talked to the expert, and he has D2R HIDs on his I20 but those can be fit in only with projector lens if you need high/low beam adjustment. The authentic conversion kits I am talking about is not readily available in Indian market, his opinion was to go with regular HIDs with projectors.
