Hello Petrol heads.

Here I am with one more page in the dictionary.
I did not see any thread with Matte paint job. So started this.

I see that out of 100% only 20% of eyes like Matte Paint jobs. Out of 20% 15% of eyes wishes to keep matte always and 3% keeps themselves on the wall(struggle to take decision) and finally only 2% takes the courage and get it done and lives with matte paints.

I am not sure where and when did people started using matte paint jobs on their rides but matte paints became famous in the era of world war under the umbrella of Hitler the great.
This was probably because of cost cutting at the time of world war or might be one of the strategies used.

My favorite colors have always been Black and Red. I am not sure why I just like the matte finish a lot. It might be because matte just shows the reality without any blings and strings around as there is no reflection from the surroundings. It’s just the body and its shapes.

So I always had a demon sitting in my mind all the time and spreading like a spiders web to change the paint job . After a lot of fight between the angel and demon. ( Below is a small validation table by the DEMON )

Soo after a very long fight of from 2010 to 2012 finally the day arrived where the devil in the heart completely killed the angel in mind and the day where I was possessed with sleepless nights, hungryless meals, meaningless thoughts, careless talks etc
Don’t remember the exact day but in the end of this April I called Motormind spoke to Shahid who is a specialist in matte paint jobs and vinyl stickering and also deals with complete body mods. Took an appointment and straight went to the shop left the car for some minimal body repair ( thanks to Bangalore Traffic and reckless cabs) and paint job. He took almost 3 full weeks to get the whole thing done and the demon in me was pricking for the three weeks like a lover pricked by the thorns of a rose given by his lover. It was a sweet pain thought and appreciate the work done as he was kind enough to give me a heads-up of what it takes to maintain a matte paint. Specially the white patches even after washing. I dint choose the stickering since I never wanted the angel in mind to wake up and start the whole war again.

I was there at stripping show that happened with my car and was thoroughly enjoying it to the core. Finally one by one … one by one …. Things were getting ready and my demands and wants of the DEMON started to get satisfied in steps

Finally ....... There was some discussions happened on choosing the shade and great minds here have to understand that Black is just not one color. You will not understand what all I had to go through to finalize the shade. Probably I might not do soo much of choosing to find my life partner. Finally after 3-4 rounds of sampling finalized one shade and then the process of plastic surgery hmm rather paint surgery started and one by one completed. I felt like I was under anesthesia whole of the time.

Here are some pictures below.

Great job buddy. I guess this is the first time i am viewing a Safari in Matte finish. The red Dicor logo is adding to the glory. As for alloys, you will have to choose them very wisely since not every finish would suit the car.

one single word "AWESOME!" or maybe I can add one too "MINDBLOWING!".
The work is looking very neat & perfect. And you made a good decision letting the demon inside you take the decision! [:D]
How do you wash the car? Any precautions needed or anything? How is it different when washing from the normal paint? (a bit curious to know coz I love matte)

[frustration]Cleaning is very difficult. Earlier I used to clean with a bucket of shampoo water and a clean cloth and then some time(Please dont ask how long).
But now after matte job it it just not enough and the white patches just stay as warned by the painter earlier. There was a warning that was given to me and people have told that I will get back to the original not now but some time from now.

I am stubborn and adamant so just doing my best to keep it look like matte. So no polish and just wash. There was an instant where I was coming back from wash and a peer of mine asked as I taking the car to wash. LoLzzz

Normal polish kills the matte effect so after some trial and errors after the wash i just mildly take some cloth and spray very little dashboard polish and wipe it off. This is my best shot given. I really like the after effects.

I havn't done that photoshoot as I have to yet do with the headlamps but will shortly do it !!!

Black-Knight,

Awesome choice and your SUV looks great now..

I feel car manufacturers must give matte finish as one of the choices as well. In fact, I booked my honda dio just for matte finish.

I'm bitten by the same bug for quite sometime and I don't want to go for vinyls. Your efforts have encouraged me more now. I'll PM you to get more details on motorminds and their job.

Once again, awesome choice and great looks..

Wow! Nice.
IMO, you made a beast more killer! I am sure any animal or even children will run with fear after seeing this beast at 1am! :stupid:

Great work. I am actually not a fan of matte, I like glossy shades (like the Innova next to your car). However, seeing your car, It is tempting me!

How much was the cost?

->visran : Thank you for adding some ghee in the fire (on a lighter note) [cry]

I know what you are talking about and thanks for the honest feedback from you. As said I am not an expert soldier to get into the battle field and get hands dirty and clean it effectively but have ideas hence the big failure. I am looking for people in Blore who are experts in building the lights as per my style. This time the Angel Eyes will be RED for sure.

->saishibu38380 : Congrats for the new set of shoes (I am jealous - jusss kidding )[angry]
Yo brother thank for the pics and those looks kool and they do not match the mammoth beast and also I am planning to protrude the tyres in future
I am asking for help on
